Job Description

Provide as an Assistant Cost Manager, input into the project cost management and control of Data Centres, from inception, through design, pre-construction, procurement, construction and final account as directed by the Senior Cost Manager.

Prepare and manage, in conjunction with the CSA / MEP cost management team, the construction budgets and cost plans and assist in the collation and reporting of all project costs via consolidated documentation.

Assist the full CSA / MEP post contract cost management services provided by the team, assist with the CSA / MEP costing of all changes and the management thereof, validate progress and payment applications and assist with the compilation of the final account.

  • Cost control at an assistant level of responsibilit
  • Estimating and cost plan preparation
  • compiling and amending the tender list
  • drafting the procurement documentation
  • drafting the tender report
  • Dealing with variations and the change control processes, negotiating less financially significant or complex matters
  • Conducting cost checks and valuations
  • Cost Reporting
  • Payment applications
  • Post contract cost services
  • Final accounts


Prior assistant cost management experience is essential

Prior experience in data centre construction.

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Cost Managem

Team player with excellent leadership and problem solving skillsent or related technical field

Excellent client relationship skills

Excellent verbal and written business communication skills, experience in preparing client cost reports

Excellent presentation skills

Knowledge of and perform to the following industry standards and practices:

  • ASPE (American Society of Professional Estimators)
  • CSI (Construction Specification Institute)
  • AACEI (Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering)
  • SCEA (Society of Cost Estimating and Analysis)
  • RICS (The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors)
